Bethel Camp for the Arts is held on the campus of Gould Academy,
located in Bethel, Maine (www.bethelmaine.com).
There are extensive arts facilities including a cottage with
separate studios for
drawing and painting, printmaking, and sculpture, a gallery for
exhibits, and a comprehensive pottery studio with six wheels
and a kiln. For performing arts, Gould has a large theater fully
equipped with sound and lighting technology, a small theater
for more intimate performances, a dance studio and a music studio.
Gould boasts a state-of-the-art science and technology building
that we use for enrichment activities including robotics, rocketry,
photography and videography. In the sports arena, there is a
field house for fitness/yoga, martial arts, racquetball and indoor
tennis. There are two outdoor tennis courts as well. To see more

Off campus activities held in Bethel include culinary arts,
golf, kayaking & canoeing and rock climbing. Culinary Arts
is taught at Café Di Cocoa, www.cafedicocoa.com. Golf
is held at the Bethel Inn & Country Club, www.bethelinn.com,
(within walking distance from Gould). Instructors are PGA certified
golf pros teaching at the Inn. Kayaking and canoeing is run
by Sun Valley Sports, www.sunvalleysports.com. Their guides
take campers on North Pond and the Androscoggin River, both
in Bethel. Rock climbing is held at Big Adventure Center, www.bigadventure.com,
also in Bethel.
Bethel is approximately 180 miles (3.25 hours) from Boston,
MA and 70 miles (1.25 hours) from Portland, ME.
Airport pick up and drop off is provided from The Portland
Jetport, www.portlandjetport.org, on the first and last day
of each session. There is non-stop air service to Portland
from Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati,
Detroit, Minneapolis, New
York - Laguardia & JFK, Newark, Philadelphia,
Washington-Dulles, and Washington - National.
