Bethany Louisos

Bethany Louisos
Dance Instructor
Bethany has grown up dancing socially with her family and at every other opportunity. She trained intensively at various studios and conservatories in the Boston area until enrolling at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a scholarship Dance and Culture major. While in Amherst she studied Ballet, Tribal Fusion, West African, Jazz, Improvisation, Horton, Graham, Release, and Silvestre Modern techniques. She was also chosen to travel on two trips abroad sponsored by the university to study Indian dance in India with Ranjaana Devi and West African dance in Senegal and Gambia with Chuck Davis. Upon returning Bethany taught modern dance fusion at the university and other dance studios for two years. Bethany is enamored with dance fusion and activism. For her thesis she facilitated a community dance project providing trained/untrained dancers alike a space to create, collaborate and empower each other as dancers and activists and share their work in public spaces. It was directly from this experience that she moved to Belfast to have her baby and start a new life, she is excited to continue sharing her passion for the power of dance. She hopes one day to be part of a dance cooperative and teach dance in women's prisons.
