Shortly after high school, Candy attended the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater in New York City, where she studied acting, speech, modern dance and jazz. After pursuing an acting career for several years, Candy attended Penn State and Rutgers Universities and earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communication and a minor in Art. Candy's career has included freelance writing, public relations and marketing. Her experience working with children includes raising two creative children of her own, taking great joy in watching them develop their musical and theatrical abilities, along with their unique perspectives on life. Playing an active role in her community, Candy served as a coordinator of an elementary school arts education program designed to introduce children to famous works of art. Besides a love of the arts, she also has a penchant for outdoor activities including cycling, tennis, jogging, swimming and snow skiing. As Maine Arts Camp Assistant Director, Candy wears many hats during the summer. Throughout the rest of the year, she resides in Florida and her role includes helping to recruit campers and staff, marketing, communicating with camper families, and working with Rick to continuously explore ideas to bring Maine Arts Camp to new heights.
