Leah was born and raised in and around Memphis, TN. Ever since she was a little girl she has enjoyed art in its many forms. Her parents invested in her interests by giving her lessons in dance, gymnastics, piano, acting, and of course, drawing and painting. During High School she began to focus on her love of fine art and was accepted to Memphis College of Art. During her 3rd semester at MCA, she was asked by her Ceramics teacher to teach a Saturday course in wheel throwing. She was honored by the invitation and realized that if teaching was the path she wished to pursue, then she needed to enroll in an Art Ed program. Massachusetts College of Art was Leah's next destination. She earned not one, but two degrees in Art Ed from Mass Art. She has been teaching Art in various programs since fall 2001. For 6 years she has held a full-time high school art teaching position in Bolton, Massachusetts, where she teaches Intro to Art, AP Studio Art, and Ceramics. She has taught Drawing and Painting and Basic Drawing during the summer program at Minuteman Regional High School since 2007. She is thrilled to be part of the Maine Arts Camp community.
