Lisa Martin
Photography Specialist - Specialty Week
|
Lisa is a fine-art photographer who has been living and working in Maine since 1982. Her photographic journey began when she was accepted as resident student at the Maine Photographic Workshops (now known as the Maine Media Workshops) in 1995. Upon completion, she became a course assistant, eventually becoming a workshop faculty member teaching foundation black & white workshops until she became a mother in 2001. Additionally, she has taught photography and video at Windover Art and Theater Camp in Newburgh, Maine. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member at Unity College teaching Black & White Photography and Art History. Lisa enjoys working with students of all ages as they explore the possibilities of using this medium as a form of self-expression. Her recent large format work explores alternative ways to engage the more-than-human world. Re-imagining our relationship to nature enigmatically, Martin's surrealist images are uniquely of this moment. She holds an M.F.A. in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies/Art & Literature from Unity College. She looks forward to working with campers this summer during specialty week!
